Vocational Placement

The NWSBS does not provide employment nor does it guarantee placement for the graduates. However, the school does receive notice about employment opportunities. Many graduates from our programs fill positions as staff herbalists at the local herb stores and natural food markets.

Many of the graduates of the PHT program have been able to merge their careers as herbalists with their existing practice as a massage therapist, nutritional consultant, acupuncturist, midwife, doula, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, doctor, naturopathic doctor, gynecologist, chiropractor, physical therapist, aromatherapist, and many other health related fields.

Herbalists must be creative and determined to pursue a career in the field. It takes many years to establish a full time herbal practice in a community. Many hours of dedication are crucial to carving a niche as a community herbalist. A full time career in herbalism does not happen overnight. It takes a special person with integrity, vision, compassion, and a good sense of business to create a role in the community as a respected herbalist.

Numerous employment opportunities are available to students who are willing dedicate their time and energy to pursuing an herbal related career. Please take a moment to review the student testimonials to see how some of our graduates are making their livings.
