The Northwest School for Botanical Studies offers a Certificate of Completion to students who finish the Professional and Clinical Herbalist Training Programs. Certificates will be awarded based on the following criteria: satisfactory completion of all assignments and tests, a record of at least 90 percent attendance, and full payment of tuition. Because there are currently no national or state certification policies for herbalists, the certificate does not declare a student as a "certified clinical herbalist." However, the Northwest School for Botanical Studies is registered with the American Herbalist Guild (A.H.G.). All hours completed through our programs count towards the registered herbalist (R.H.) status through the A.H.G.
Before practicing herbalism in a private setting, completion of the Professional and Clinical Herbalist Training Programs is recommended. Students are strongly encouraged to offer their services to community members, friends, and family to build confidence and gain experience prior to opening a professional practice.
